David and I have decided that the perfect name for our second lil son is Isaac Noah Blair. We love both the Isaac and the Noah of the Bible, men who completely trusted God under very scary circumstances. In baby name books Isaac means “laughter” and Noah means “peacemaker”, so we’re obviously hoping for another jovial lil fellow like the one we have in Jameson. I love the way Isaac sounds, including possible nicknames like “Ike” and “Zac”.  I also like that Isaac is not an entirely popular name, we do have a few distant friends who have chosen this name for their sons recently and that was one of the reasons we didn’t want to settle on it for a while… not because I vainly want my sons to have unique names, but instead when I think of “Isaac”’s I thought of other people’s children instead of my own. Maybe that’s why Jameson was so easy to land on, I personally know no others!

I’m glad to be settled on this lil one’s namesake! A little side bonus is that Jameson can actually say Isaac, as opposed to all the other names that were on our list…

Today I have successfully stripped both the convertible carseat and the stroller of their covers, belts and all. I have the urge to clean them before we go to Cali and I’m contemplating stripping the carrier baby carseat as well… the only thing stopping me is the fact that I already cleaned it before I put it in storage, how dirty could it get in a trash bag? If these particular urges are not part of nesting, I don’t know what is.

Yes, the Evil Days of pregnancy have started. The Bible talks about the Evil Days of life, the final last years of your life when your body stops working for you and all there is to look forward to is the end.

The eighth month of pregnancy starts the Evil Days. Mind you, I am still very comfortable, positive and enjoying this pre-two-babies time. But my body is in fact beginning to not work for me. That is the main reason I chose the task of the carseat and stroller cleaning today, I know that even in just a few weeks I will not have the endurance or patience to work with complicated belt systems and the flipping over of large items.

My ankles have started to slightly swell. Sleep evades me. Simple words slip my mind. My emotional state goes from jovial to rage in seconds. My belly is not too cumbersome… yet… Naps are a must. 8-10weeks to go!

Is that all? I’m having way too much fun with my adorable, babbling, ever growing 21mo-old…

Whenever someone asks that question, “If you could have one super-human power, what would it be?” I always enjoy thinking about what it would be like to have super power. There are a few super-human powers that may seem unconventional to most, but to us moms the following Super Hero-Mom power would be most essential for our daily lives. I’ll add more to the list, but today this one is on my mind.

The ability to take one look at the dishes in the sink and know exactly what order and alignment to place each dish into the dishwasher in order that the dishwasher holds all of the dishes perfectly.

Let’s start by saying that I’ve never really enjoyed the typical “Women’s Ministry” events and such. I’ve often avoided large women gatherings, meaning a lot of people not “large” women . My past experience has taught me  that where many women gather, also gather annoying small talk, gossip and always always always drama. I’m not a fan of drama. 

This past sunday I had the opportunity to attend the Biblical Womanhood sunday school class at our church, Immanuel Baptist. There are about 25 women, aged 14-65. 

It was so refreshing. I think that my last experiences lacked a few things that were very evident in this group of women. 1) Mature older women who have been believers for a long time. 2) Mature young women, sincerely trying to learn from the class instead of inputing. 3) Love. These women know the Gospel and know that to know Christ is to Love. In the short hour of class I saw more sincere love for each other and the entire body of Immanuel than I have ever been a part of before. 

So refreshing.

I can’t wait to be a part of more of these women gathering. I needed this more than I thought.

Every Mom has got to love when this happens spontaneously… it’s not very often that a 20mo-old climbs up into your resting session, gets comfy and promptly falls asleep. Ahhh, what a cutie!

We had a lot of fun playing the name game when we were deciding on a name for our first son, who is now Jameson as some of you might know…. But for this one, we thought we didn’t need the game. “No need to broadcast it” “It doesn’t really matter what others’ think” “It not as big of  deal this time around” are all things we were thinking… We also thought that we had it down… But once we thought we had decided, we talked more, and decided that we have not decided. So we’re back to our fav five and we’d like to see what others’ have to say this time around as well. So please include your input! I’ve posted a poll on FB, and Isaac is kicking butt!

One little boy in one big bed, think he has enough leg room? Jameson is sleeping in his new bed starting tonight!… and I thought I didn’t get any sleep last night…. I love that I found some airplane sheets that match our room colors. So keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we make this big transition!
