We were so excited to take Jameson to the beach for the first time! He absolutely loved it! It was also Hudson’s first trip so the two of them truly enjoyed the tasty sand. I wonder if Kim had as much sand to clean in poopy diapers as I did….

Sunscreen is as good as gel.

Happy little sand crab.

That's what sand shovels are for buddy!

Mom, its everywhere! I think he shares my loathe of the sand.

To the water!

Whoa! Waves!

It's cold... brrr

Movin in

White knuckling after a wave

Someone got away from daddy during a diaper change... this may be why I had extra sand in the dipe....

No J! This isn't that kind of beach....

Baseball night with the Blair’s! Brennen’s team made it to playoffs and we used the game as an excuse for a get together, bbq, and a little announcement…

Mmmm, Carne Asada and Veggies

Jameson shared his news! He wore the shirt around for about 5min before anyone noticed, go Kim! We're very excited to have another come February!

So this is baseball?

Caleb still watching the game, but definitely still enjoying his watermelon.

Rob and Caleb

The Williams', expecting a little girl in November!

Hudson and his body guard

This is what fences were built for, toddlers!

He's ready...

... practically asking to play shortstop

Determined

Uh, I'm joining the team of course...

Welcomed

They didn't win, but the guys made Bren feel like the MVP

Field workers today, players tomorrow.

Chalk is for eating, right?

Clean those dirty boys up!
That last bath picture was very short lived. They all lost it. It didn’t seem too torturous at the time…

Just say no to Amoxicillin!
Jameson had his first ear infection on our trip, a double ear infection! So we found a doc there and she prescribed the usual and after the first night’s improvement we were thanking the Lord for antibiotics. Then about a week passed and J broke out in a full body rash! He seemed fine other than the pimples all over his body so we were a bit perplexed on why this was happening… well, my mom shed some light… She said that Jess had the exact reaction with amox and it turned out that she was allergic to it! So we stopped the dosage and the doc here at home prescribed something new and says we’ll wait a while and try it again in a few years to be sure it was a reaction and not just a side effect. Check out our little leper… who is fine now!

Still a happy boy!

I have several fun pics to add but I thought I’d give each event its own post so that it’s not too massive for one read! Let’s start with:
My younger sister, Jessica, graduated from UCSD! Yay! A whole year early, way to save some big bucks sista, oh yeah, and you’re also reeeeaaal smart… It was an early morning but what other kind would the Newkirk family have best? Homemade breakfast burritos and mimosa’s started the morning right and rest of the day followed wonderfully. Congrats again Jess!

Dad and Jack and Dad's beard, all present!

Going to their seats.

Shake that hand girl! In front of her with the lei is her bf, Arnold.

Hi!

I have really been digging the consignment store lately. I think the best deals are on shoes and Jameson needed a pair of summer sandals and tennis shoes, so off we went. I guess when I say that I think the shoes are the best deals its because all I’ve really looked at purchasing are clothes and shoes. If you shop sales and sale racks at general clothing stores you can find good clothes for $3.50 or less for each item, and consignment stores are generally not much cheaper. Their prices are a great knockoff if you’re into name brands, like Gap or Janie and Jack, or a Children’s Place, but since we’re not into those we just stick to cheapest. Anyways. I got two great pair of shoes for a total of $10, and then they were having a 50% off sale of all Melissa and Doug toys…. which are “name brand” but I have had my eyes set on this set of blocks since I babysat for some babies that had it several years ago. $15 just didn’t pass for us, too much for a single toy, I thought maybe it’d be a present one day. BUT at the consignment store… $7… much more attractive and affordable… and I was already there… and the sale only lasts so long… and Jameson would love them… and hey! I have to enjoy the toys since I play with them too… So, I got ‘em.

The dentist called some time last week to remind David of his 6mo check up and we decided that we should take the whole family. I haven’t been in years and Jameson has developed some strange dark stuff up by his gums on a few teeth… so before we go to Cali and have the grandma’s scold us for not brushing his teeth (which we do every day) we thought we’d take him in and see what the doc says! (so we would have an excuse basically)

He has shoes I promise, just like we “brush his teeth” right?

He was not so sure that he was up for errands this morning, it didn’t matter where we were going, great start to the day!

He knew which dentist was his without us even telling him!

Appropriate

Likewise, appropriate…. this may have been when he figured out that he was at the dentist…

Ready for action… not really, I had just disappeared behind this door moments earlier.

Even though he has a very unsure look on his face, he was smiling and showing his teeth in no time. The dentist says that what he has is just normal “staining” that can’t be brushed off. (he said we could try with some kid toothpaste he gave us, but that it was nothing to worry about) It must be all those berries Jamesy devours or something…
