Happy 4th!

We had such a fun 4th of July afternoon as a family. Here is our little firecracker all dressed up and ready to go!

He couldn’t wait to get out in his little trailer. A little “old fashioned” fourth of july celebration was being held at a historic mansion only a few blocks from our apt. We though we’d check out the scene… it was a great excuse to ride around.

So here’s the Blair Biker Clan, decked out in our red, white and blue…. Yes, we strap Jamesy’s car seat in the trailer, mostly for his comfort but its also much safer! In the picture the sun is shining brightly and we’re ready to enjoy our afternoon!

Well, we didn’t get too far before the hills got too steep! I’m soooo out of shape! This is me walking the final 100yards of the hill. This was taken right before I handed over the bike and trailer to my buff hubby, but I just didn’t have any momentum to finish the task, so I was walking.

There were a few old fire station “vehicles”… not really trucks, just old cars. Jameson didn’t really care, he was more perturbed by the teenage rock band playing cover songs of artists who were most likely dead before they were born.

Daddy and babe… Jameson was ready to hit the road for real action. He is far too advanced for those silly carnival games and even though those funnel cakes smelled delicious, he was craving something a little more creamy… After leaving the fair, we traversed about 2miles over to the Marshman’s flat. They gave us much needed water and much appreciated cake and brownies. Their little Hank is getting so big already and Georgia has developed some pretty elaborate forts around the house. On the way home our partly cloudy, somewhat sprinkly day turned in to full fledged rain.

We found shelter under a tree… yeah, here the trees are actually thick enough to be a shelter from the rain… and we took a couple of shots of these huge drops plopping on the ground.

No Worries! Jameson was quite comfy and dry in his little cart. The plastic “windshield” worked perfectly!

David and I are now going to ice every joint in our body, schedule massages for tomorrow, and retire to bed at a ridiculously early hour to try to recover from this adventurous day. We are old fogies who can’t enjoy a bike ride without being exhausted. So no fireworks show for us tonight…. at least the show in the sky ;)
